ADOPTION WRAPAROUND
at Kinship Center

"A Practical Form of Compassion
Organized in a Sensible Way"

Adoption Wraparound is a unique post-adoption process designed to help families who are struggling with the behavior of their adopted child, and who are considering immediate or eventual placement into residential care. Adoption Wrap adheres to the standards and requirements of traditional Wraparound, but with a specific focus on the unique issues experienced by adoptive families.

The process was pioneered and developed  by the AFTER program of Kinship Center in Santa Clara County, California, and has since expanded to Orange and Monterey Counties, with service to twelve other Counties in the State by our Out-of-County program. We have been cited by the Evan B. Donaldson Institute as a model program. Wraparound is a collaboration between the family, the County and Kinship Center committed to providing a highly individualized, family and needs driven process that enables the family to sustain, and the child to remain at home.

This site provides information for County staff, private adoption agencies and families that describes the rationale, the process, requirements and outcomes achieved. There are helpful videos along the way. Please navigate to your areas of interest from the buttons above, and click here for a brochure.
